Jessica and Jared: Happily Ever After

Monday, April 27, 2009

Late last night I returned from my trip to Wenatchee. Oh my goodness! What a beautiful place! Especially during their Apple Blossom Festival! Jessica and Jared's wedding was absolutely f.a.b.u.l.o.u.s! The light was absolutely extraordinary. The people were so much fun. And the imagery we brought back was out of this world!

Don't forget! If you were in Jessica and Jared's wedding or are guests, you can view all of the pictures here by the end of the week.

Check back in a couple of days for more images and a slideshow!

Until then, here's a sneak preview!

New Shoots. Good Seasons. Continued Projects.

Monday, April 20, 2009

Well, the last week was the start of a new editing routine. I've been spending six hours or more in front of my laptop sorting, editing, and compiling the projects that I've been working on with Revolutionary Media.

I'm not gonna lie, editing so long is really challenging for me. I'm working on 3 mulitmedia projects in the middle of normal shoots with editing, and another wedding season is coming upon my business. I look forward to the different aspects of this artistic media work. Right now, it just finds me in one place with not a lot of deviance.

Saturday I took a break from editing to do a concert shoot for The Dickson String Quartet. And you may notice, yes, they carry my last name. My fabulous brothers and sister are amazing musicians. You can view them on www.thedicksonfive.com.

Here's a sneak peak at what we brought back home. Stay tuned for some more really sweet images!

Family Funness!!!

Hey everyone! It's been a little over a week since I've posted but it's seemed like forever! I've been super busy with shoots for the non-profit projects I'm working on. However, I am finding time to fit in some family shoots, some band portraits, and other cool stuff. ;-)

Thursday I had a blast doing a super quick and fun session with the Voetburg family. They are currently on furlough from their mission work in Africa. I really admire them for taking the whole family on a mission to help others through the love of God. That is the kind of person that I want to be.

Anyway, here's a preview of our shoot! As you can tell, our 35 minutes was pretty sweet!

April's Projects bring May's Pieces!

Thursday, April 9, 2009

Hey Everyone!

This April I've had a little bit of a break from my wedding shooting to facilitate my philanthropic work with several non profit organizations in Portland and the surrounding area. I've been shooting and creating a few multimedia pieces for these organizations.

I think perhaps what I love most about being a photographer is the ability to enrich the lives of others. My brides walk away from their beautiful day with gorgeous memories. My sponsored non-profits are able to have short video's that surge their donations and support. In fact, these two types of photography go hand in hand. At least 20% of my wedding photography fees are donated to this nonprofit mulitmedia work, enabling my brides to be a part of philanthropic work around the world. ;-)

The art of photography isn't passive my friends. It is active.

And it is a wonderful thing to be a part of.
